Friends of the Children's Hospital

The Friends of the Children’s Hospital are a group of unpaid volunteers who help raise funds to support the welfare and lifestyle of patients at the Trust. The group formed in 1975 when the hospital celebrated its centenary.

Purpose

The Friends’ purpose is to help foster the welfare of children being treated at the hospital and in the community.

Since 1986 the Friends have run a shop in the hospital which sells thoughtful gifts and necessities including toiletries, toys, cards, balloons and knitted baby clothes. The shop is in the Main Entrance of the hospital and is open Monday to Friday from 10am until 4pm.

The Friends also help to provide special toys and teaching materials requested by staff to help in diagnosis and treatment.

Events

We organise various fundraising activities throughout the year with money raised by donations, gift aid, fairs and raffles.

Committee

The committee holds meetings every first Wednesday of the month at the hospital. All are welcome!

The Friends of the Children’s Hospital are currently on the look out for volunteers to assist with a variety of activities. Get in touch if you would like to help.
