The IT Skills Pathway provides access to training and assessment for the main Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and more. The courses range from ‘Basic’ through to ‘Advanced’.

The Pathway has been developed to provide an officially recognised route of learning and certification for the whole NHS workforce. Its purpose is to encourage everyone working within the NHS to review their current IT skills and knowledge against recognised standards, determine what their skill gaps are and then identify their current and future training requirements based on the products that are available.

If you would like to speak to someone about any aspect of the IT Skills Pathway please email the Trust’s centre manager, Susan Wragg

SCH clinical staff can access over 300 fully illustrated step-by-step procedures on the clinical skills website. With each procedure comes a test assessment. These include Intravenous Therapy, Cannulation and Venepuncture in Infants and Children by Amy Clarke from SCH.

In-house training courses (usually delivered via a powerpoint presentation and lecture) can also be added and linked to test assessments to make courses more accessible. Examples added so far include Suction, NG tube training and Catheterisation.

If you deliver a course which clinical staff need to undertake and would appreciate an online platform to provide it, please contact Sarah Massey at the Illingworth Library.

The Skills Platform list accredited and quality providers in training on a range of topics, including clinical, nursing, and leadership training.

Please feel free to browse all fully funded courses at the Skills Platform website.
